A walkthrough of the history, exam, and plan, so nothing about your first appointment is a surprise.
The most common thing we hear from new patients is that they weren't sure what they were walking into. Here's the whole sequence, start to finish.
History, before anything else
We start by talking. When did the problem start, what makes it better or worse, what have you already tried, and what does a normal day look like for you? Most of what we need to know comes out of this conversation, not the exam.
A physical and neurological exam
We look at how you move: where motion is restricted, which muscles are doing too much, and which aren't doing enough. This is hands-on and shouldn't be uncomfortable. If something hurts, say so, because that's information.
A plan you actually understand
You should leave knowing what we think is going on, what we plan to do about it, and roughly how long it should take. If we don't think chiropractic is the right fit for your situation, we'll tell you and point you somewhere better.
What to bring
A photo ID, any relevant records or imaging you already have, and comfortable clothing you can move in. That's it. Most first visits run about 45 minutes.
