Chiropractic during pregnancy: what the care actually involves

Pregnancy-specific technique, comfortable positioning, and when to coordinate with your OB or midwife.

Pregnancy changes how your pelvis loads, where your center of gravity sits, and how much slack is in your ligaments. Low-back, hip, and pelvic discomfort are common results.

What pregnancy-specific care means

Positioning is adapted to your trimester, and adjustments are gentler and lower-force than standard technique. The Webster technique, a method focused on balancing the pelvis and easing tension in the surrounding ligaments, is commonly used through pregnancy.

Screening and coordination

Not every pregnancy is a fit for every technique, which is why the first visit includes careful screening. Where it makes sense, we coordinate with your OB or midwife rather than working in isolation.

When to start

There's no single right time. Some people start early to stay comfortable as things change, and others come in later for specific hip or pelvic pain.

Please note. General information only. This isn't medical advice for your situation. Talk to your own provider about what's appropriate for your pregnancy.
